
Obituary Request

The Monroe Evening News charges $50 for each day of publication of a full obituary.
The obituary is limited to 400 words, must be written by the funeral home or family and e-mailed to obit@monroenews.com. An additional $25 will be charged for obituaries that must be rewritten.
The obituary includes one photo of the deceased, publication in the next available print and Web editions of The Monroe Evening News, publication in our Bedford Now weekly newspaper for those who have Bedford Township connections and Internet posting at www.monroenews.com. Pre-publication proofs will not be provided.
There is no charge for death notices, which list the name, age, hometown of deceased, date of death and the name of the funeral home or cremation society that is handling arrangements.
Anyone wishing an obituary exceeding the 400-word limit or including more than one photo may contact the advertising department from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at 734-242-1100 or advertising@monroenews.com. On Friday and Saturday nights, contact the news department at the same number or at obit@monroenews.com. The cost depends on the amount of space used.
The Evening News will bill funeral homes and cremation societies that have established accounts. Visa or Mastercard account number, cash or personal check are required in advance for all other obituaries.
