| More than just say "no"
In the 1980s, first lady Nancy Reagan told kids to "Just say no." But you may need more than that. The problem is, many times, there's no question to answer with no. You'll probably find yourself facing drug decisions at a party or with a group of fellow kids. Or you may find cigarettes at the playground. It will be your choice to do drugs or not to do drugs. Instead of simply saying "no": Make a pact with a friend that you will support each other and leave a situation together when confronted with drugs.
Have a plan of action - a trusted adult you can call when confronted with drugs at a party or with friends and who can pick you up and drive you home when you choose to say no. |
